Issue:
Cannot uninstall PowerDVD within the Windows ‘Add or Remove Programs’
Cause:
PowerDVD program is damaged or PowerDVD did not install correctly.
Solution:
• Reboot PC
• Download Microsoft cleanup tool from. To down load; proceed to the following link http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe
• To execute the Microsoft cleanup tool, follow these steps:

(2) In the Windows Installer Clean Up box--> select “PowerDVD”.
(3) Click Remove
• Remove “PowerDVD 8” installation Folder
For Windows XP and Windows Vista 32 bit:
The original PowerDVD Folder Path:
C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD8
C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD8
For Windows Vista 64 bit:
The original PowerDVD Folder Path:
C:\Program Files(x86)\CyberLink\PowerDVD8
• Remove C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information{2BF2E31F-B8BB-40A7-B650-98D28E0F7D47}folder
C:\Program Files(x86)\CyberLink\PowerDVD8
• Remove C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information{2BF2E31F-B8BB-40A7-B650-98D28E0F7D47}folder
(Note: This is a hidden folder. Please enable show hidden files and folders option under Windows Explorer->Organize->Folder and search options->View->Hidden files and folders)
• To execute the Registry Editor, follow these steps:
For Windows Vista 32 bit and Windows XP:
- Click Start--> click Run--> and then type Regedit
- Remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CyberLink\PowerDVD8
- Remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ {2BF2E31F-B8BB-40A7-B650-98D28E0F7D47}
- Remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield Uninstall Information\ {2BF2E31F-B8BB-40A7-B650-98D28E0F7D47}
- Remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield_ {2BF2E31F-B8BB-40A7-B650-98D28E0F7D47}
For Windows Vista 64 bit:
- Click Start--> click All Programs--> click Accessories--> click Run and then type Regedit.
- Remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\CyberLink\PowerDVD8
- Remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{2BF2E31F-B8BB-40A7-B650-98D28E0F7D47}
- Remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield Uninstall Information\ {2BF2E31F-B8BB-40A7-B650-98D28E0F7D47}
- Remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield_ {2BF2E31F-B8BB-40A7-B650-98D28E0F7D47.
- Restart your machine. After finish these all steps, your PowerDVD is completely removed.
