Control Delay Of Start Menu Display

It is possible to control the interval used to delay the appearance of the Start Menu, when you click Start on the Taskbar.

This task contains steps that will guide you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For security, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

To change the Start menu display interval, follow these steps below:

1. Click Start, click Run OR (Hold Down the 'Windows' Key on Your Keyborad and Press The Key 'R') and then type regedit OR (regedt32), and then click OK.

2. On the Windows Registry Menu, click HKEY_CURRENT_USER(Under My Computer)--> Click on Control Panel--> Click on Desktop folder And on the right window pane Double Click 'Menu Show Delay'
3. Double-click the MenuShowDelay value, type a number representing the menu display delay (in number of milliseconds) in the String box, and then click OK. You can enter any whole number between 0 and 4,000. If you use an entry of 0, there is no menu display delay.
